What is the HGS Forum and what is it used
for?
The Stock Market Investment Strategy Forum is a discussion group (i.e. bulletin
board) hosted by Yahoo (www.yahoo.com). Yahoo refers
to these as "Groups". This discussion forum
is free to use and allows anyone to post investing questions. It
allows searching and replying to specific posts so that
messages may be seen in context (i.e discussion threads).
Some useful functionality of the investment strategy forum:

Messages may be viewed in date order so the most
recent postings easily stand out. |

Messages may be viewed in "thread" order
so that messages posted in response to other messages
are easily recognized. |

There is a search facility which allows text searches
of all the messages stored in the forum database. |

Your forum account may be setup to email you all
the messages each day instead of requiring you to
logon to the group. Some people feel this fills
up their email boxes and some prefer the interactive
approach more than this overnight approach. Either
way works. |

Attachments may be included with your messages.
This means that if you have a small spreadsheet
you would like to share, or a screen capture of
a chart or message box, these files may be attached
with a message. In order to see attachments you must subscribe to the group via email. Attachments are not kept on the web archive. |
How do I sign up?Signing up is easy and free.
1. If you don't have one, signup for a Yahoo account
by accessing the following link:

2. Next join the HGS forum by clicking on
the link below. You will be asked to enter the Yahoo
account name and password you just created.
Join
HGS Investor forum
You are now a member of the stock market investment strategy
forum.
How do I access the forum to review messages?
Messages come to you: Signing up with the default
settings will setup your forum access so that all the
messages are emailed directly to your email address.
You don't have to visit the website to review messages.
To reply to a message from someone else simply reply
to the message you receive. Your message will be posted
on the forum.
Online review of messages: There are several
places on the HGS website where you will see the link
"logon to forum".
1. Click on the "logon
to forum" link to open the HGS Investor Group
window.
2. Once that window is open click on "Sign In"
on the upper right hand part of the window.
How do I submit a question/suggestion?
There are two ways to submit a question.
Using Email: From an account subscribed to the group send email to hgsinvestor@yahoogroups.com.
Typing the message into the website directly:
1. Click on the logon
to the forum link
2. click on "sign in"
3. Click the "post" link on the left hand
side of the window.
